Fast food prices have increased drastically in the last few years. I’d order two combo meals at Wendy’s and spend $30. At Five Guys, a hamburger (no fries or drinks) costs $12, and Burger King’s whopper meal now costs nearly $14 (from $8.99).
I went to Mickey D’s last week and was surprised to discover a Medium Fries now costs $2.77. In some locations, it’s even more expensive – $3.79. The same medium fries only cost a dollar back in 2014. If you love McDonald’s as much as I do, you know that these price increases are frustrating.
But all is not lost.
You can still find promotions or deals at McDonald’s if you look hard enough.
I’ve done some research and I’ve uncovered a few really good deals. Some of them may no longer be available in most locations, while others are still on going.
Free 6-Piece Chicken McNuggets
This one-day only promo from McDonald’s was slated for May 22. They gave out free 6-piece Chicken McNuggets to customers who placed their orders via the app. No purchase was necessary. All you had to do was sign up for the MyMcDonald’s Rewards, download the app and look for Rewards & Deals, where the option to tap on the free 6-piece nuggets could be found.
20% – 30% OFF Orders via the McDonald’s App
I read about people’s complaints regarding the high price of fast food a lot. Many of these complaints are aimed at McD’s. And while it’s true that prices have increased across all fastfood chains, you can actually get discounted prices when you order from the McDonald’s app.
Now, while many locations used to enjoy up to 30% off orders from the app, nowadays, the discounts have gone down a bit. Here are some examples of discounts for app orders:
20% off with a minimum order of $5 in California, North Carolina and Oregon
20% to 25% off orders in Central Florida, Georgia, and New Mexico.
Freebies for McDonald’s App Orders
Aside from discounts, you may also be eligible for some freebies when you order through the McDonald’s app. These are the current promotions and deals available at McDonald’s:
Free Fries Friday
From now until December 31, 2024, you can get a free medium fries on any $1 purchase in the app. This offer is for single use only.
Free Big Mac
Get a free Big Mac Burger with any $1 order when you download the McDonald’s app and sign up. This offer is available to first time app users.
Is the Buy 1 Get 1 for $1 at McDonald’s Still Available?
A few months ago, McDonald’s brought back its BOGO for $1 with 4 menu favorites, including:
- Big Mac
- Chicken McNuggets (10-piece)
- Filet-O-Fish Sandwich
- Quarter Pounder with Cheese
The promotion allows you to mix and match any 2 items, and you pay the regular price for the first item, and only $1 for the second one. This offer ran through January 29, 2024 in participating McDonald’s locations.
However, when I was lurking through Reddit posts and comments, I found out that some McDonald’s stores still have BOGO deals. One Redditor says they have BOGO$1 on breakfast items like the sausage muffin, burrito, biscuit or hashbrown as well as 2 for $3.50 with options like McChicken, (regular or spicy) McDouble, 4 piece chicken nuggets, or small fries.
What is the 2 for $3 Breakfast Deal at McDonald’s?
The 2 for $3 deal is available in select McDonald’s locations only. I’ve read somewhere that this offer is currently available in Pennsylvania and Ohio. With this new deal, you can mix and match your favorite McDonald’s breakfast items like the Sausage Biscuit, Sausage McMuffin and Sausage Burrito and pay only $3.
Is the McDonald’s 2 for $6 Deal Still Available?
This limited offer from McDonald’s lets you pick any 2 of the following items and pay only $6:
- Big Mac
- Quarter Pounder
- 10-piece Chicken McNuggets
- Filet-O-Fish
This offer may still be available in some locations. For other locations, they have the $2 for $8 deals which lets you pick 2 items from the Classic Chicken Sandwich, Spicy Chicken Sandwich or 10-Piece Nuggets and you’ll only pay $8.
Can You Use 2 Deals Together at McDonald’s?
No, you can only use one deal per visit. Please take note that the deals may or may not be available in all locations.

Hear me out. This is my go to McDonald’s location. The parking lot is a mess here (don’t park by the McDonald’s- park in the plaza) however, this store is clean, consistent, and always gives my quick drive throughs quality food.
These days I ONLY use the app. Every time I order I choose the 25% off my order option. This morning I ran through after my chores and ordered the family breakfast bundle- hotcakes, 3 breakfast sandwiches and 4 hash browns for $13.89 PLUS 25% off. Made it home just as my teens were waking up. Great way to start the day!
Get the App. Grab your deals. FREE Fries on Fridays!!!
PS- the coffee is in my top 5 coffees in the area!
Are the Current McDonald’s Promotions and Deals Worth It?
The latest McDonald’s promotions and deals let us enjoy our favorite fastfood items for less. I’m especially excited about the $5 Meal Deal which will be available in stores in June for one month only. I’ve provided the details for this promotion here.
